Back when we were founded in 1945, most ice cream shops stuck to traditional flavors like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, so our founders, Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins decided to go big. Like, “let’s offer 31 flavors instead” big. And the Legend of 31 Flavors was born! In 1953, our iconic 31® was created to represent a different ice cream flavor for each day of the month.
It's safe to say Burt and Irv’s passion made a lasting impact. Fast forward more than 75 years later, and flavor innovation is still at the core of everything we do with more than 1,500 flavors developed to date. But the best part is, we’ve got flavors for everyone, every day and every occasion. We’ve even gone as far as introducing a new Flavor of the Month, every month, to offer our guests a wide variety of choices - from the cult classics like Love Potion #31® to buzzworthy flavors like Chick’n & Waffles. Our Flavors of the Month are unique takes on trending flavors and cultural moments that are available for a limited time each month.
Baskin-Robbins Flavor experts are kind of a big deal. These are the brains behind every scoop, from Pralines ‘n Cream to Jamoca® Almond Fudge. They start off each day with one goal in mind: make someone’s next favorite flavor. And, while that might sound like a lot of pressure, it’s a pretty sweet gig. We believe that a great flavor can come from anywhere, whether it’s inspiration from flavor trends, moments in pop culture, recommendations from our guests or delicious innovations from our team.

Our flavors do more than satisfy cravings, they brighten up people’s days and bring people together in a way that only ice cream can.
