Meet Pint-Sized Hero Caleb Alarcon from Pearl City, Hawaii

Baskin-Robbins® is closing out the year on a positive note with our last Pint-Sized Hero™ of 2021 and thirteenth honoree to date: 13-year-old Caleb Alarcon from Pearl City, Hawaii! Caleb exemplifies what it means to impact your community for the better, and Baskin-Robbins is excited to recognize Caleb’s passion, creativity, and commitment to caring for others.

Caleb has always loved music and began playing the ukulele four years ago, but he didn’t realize how powerful music could be until his mom had a difficult day. After noticing his mother was stressed from a long day of work, Caleb decided to sing and play the ukulele for her and noticed her mood instantly improved. From there, Caleb got the idea to visit and perform for the elderly at care facilities in his community to lift their spirits. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Caleb found a way to continue his mission while staying safe by performing virtually to spread joy, love and hope through the sounds of the ukulele.

Caleb was inspired to help others at a young age by his mom and dad, who are a counselor and teacher respectively. He has been volunteering at the Hawaiian Humane Society since he was 8 years old and is currently the treasurer for the Hawaii Chapter Red Cross Club. Caleb’s ultimate goal is to spread the spirit of Aloha, make a difference and inspire others to do so as well by sharing their own passions.

We’re honored to recognize Caleb, his dedication to his community and his mission of helping those in need. To pay it forward, the Baskin-Robbins Joy in Childhood Foundation is giving a $5,000 donation to the charity of his choice – Aloha Harvest, a nonprofit that rescues quality excess food and delivers it free of charge to social service agencies feeding the hungry in Hawaii. To show our personal gratitude to Caleb, we will also be treating him to a year of free Baskin-Robbins ice cream!

Caleb Aloha

When Caleb isn’t giving back or eating his favorite Baskin-Robbins ice cream – America's Birthday Cake – he enjoys playing video games, drawing and spending time with his pets. Even with several accomplishments under his belt already, Caleb has big dreams for when he grows up and aspires to be a veterinarian and promote the health and welfare of animals.
