This year, the Pint-Sized Hero program continues with a new mission of bringing happiness and smiles to children receiving care at children’s hospitals across the country. Baskin-Robbins is working closely with the Joy in Childhood Foundation to raise funds that will benefit sick kids and will allow our Pint-Sized Heroes to continue to give back. Last month, we recognized a truly special Pint-Sized Hero, and provided a grant to the hospital where he received treatment. Keep reading for the inside scoop on our newest Pint-Sized Hero, Michael.
Michael is 10 years old living in Sacramento, California with his mom and dad. Although Michael was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, he does not let any of the challenges he faces hold him back. Michael has been a longtime patient of Shriners Children’s Northern California and has benefitted from orthotics, Motion Analysis Center evaluations, physical therapy and surgery at the facility. Michael is ambulatory and is determined to improve upon it by standing and walking without aids some day.
Michael is very involved in his community, loves sports, theater and chess and inspires those around him every day with his positivity and optimistic outlook.
We’re honored to recognize Michael as a Pint-Sized Hero. To pay it forward, the Baskin-Robbins Joy in Childhood Foundation is granting $31,000 in his name to Shriner’s Children’s Northern California to use on child life programming. To show our personal gratitude to Michael, we will also be treating him to a year of free Baskin-Robbins ice cream!
